The weather is heating up and the hair color trends for spring and summer are heating it up even more! There’s plenty of amazing hair colors to choose from that can give your base color some pop or will give you the opportunity for an all-over hair color change. Here are some of our favorites we’re seeing for spring and summer.
Milk chocolate. A rich, deep brunette is a classic look and never goes out of style. Chocolate is perfect for the season, especially when paired with a high gloss treatment for an unbelievable shine. Going a little darker on the ends gives a deeper, multi-dimensional sheen instead of going lighter on the tips.
Copper highlights. Red is everywhere this season and it’s a hot hair color! We are seeing brunettes warming up their color with either hint of auburn highlights, or enjoying some chunky highlights to spruce up their hair. If you’re a natural redhead, highlights in auburn or copper shades will give you a modern, high-dimensional look while giving your hair some reflective highlights that will pop in the summer sun.
Deep honey. If you’re blonde, consider going a shade darker than the traditional honey blonde this season. It’s an easy transitional shade from a cool shade that may have been your choice last winter. Also, it’s perfect as a base color to use with a blend of lighter blonde highlights to really frame your face and lighten up your look for summer.
Money piece creativity. Last year we saw a lot of face-framing money pieces in shades of blonde. However, this year we’re seeing a more creative outlook on money pieces with bold colors, or a combination of colors, to really give a bold statement and make your hair stand out.
Pastel fun. Pastels are synonymous with spring and we’re seeing a lot of requests for violet, lavender, and pink for pretty spring-colored hair. These fun fantasy colors are great for either an all-over look or just to add some highlighting or color melting to add interest.
High-contrast hair. This trend takes shades with super contrast – like dazzling blonde and intense deep brown – and throws them together for a high-contrast look. Dark, long roots and light shades on the ends create an array of interesting looks whether your hair is left down, in an updo, or back as a slick pony. Although it’s a little more high-maintenance of a look, it will definitely make a statement this season.
